Tips for a Top CV

On average, employers look at a CV for a mere 60 seconds. Here are some tips from Pryme Choice to get your CV noticed!

1. Target your CV for the job you are applying for.
The best way to do this is to look at the job advertisement and the criteria they are asking for, and see if you fulfil the criteria. If you meet the requirements, tailor the language in your CV to match, ensuring that you include significant experience and skills, which are relevant to the job.

2. Lacking experience?
If this is the case, put the emphasis on your skills. In your opening paragraph, include specific skills you have which would make you a perfect fit for the job. This is the ideal place to include them, as it is the first thing your potential employer will see.

3. No more than 2 pages!
Keep your CV to two pages maximum. Any more than that and it will not be read. Try to include the most important information (which is relevant to the role you are applying for) and ensure that it is neat and in a readable font and size (no smaller than 11 point).

4. Make everything you have done sound positive, no matter how small!
No matter how insignificant a task or a meeting might have been explain the role you played in a positive light. This will tell the employer a bit about how you work with others, how you handle situations and what your strengths are.

5. Still finding it hard?

Applicants with relevant experience and ID will be contacted and invited for an interview

Face-to-face Interview

Face-to-face interviews give us the opportunity to discuss job roles in further detail and assess whether the applicant is the right fit for the job.

We will also discuss previous skills and training and whether any additional training is required. Successful candidates will be carefully matched with our clients.
